This book embodies the conviction that, when translating language, one must faithfully convey its cultural elements. Whether you translate Korean into another language or another language into Korean, understanding the culture behind the words is essential. Knowing a language is also knowing its culture. We must free ourselves from the many prejudices that arise in cultural translation. Life Pattern Korea. It values genuine interest in—and understanding of—each other’s culture, as well as the joy of translation. This book addresses the broad themes of language, culture, and translation. They are truly vast subjects. Naturally, it does not attempt to cover every aspect. At times it approaches cultural translation from philosophical or sociological perspectives. Life Pattern Korea. While reading related works, I realized that including everything in one volume would be impossible. Discussions of cultural translation in relation to imperialism, neo-imperialism, anti-imperialism, and post-colonialism could not be explored in depth. Life Pattern Korea. I only wish to say that the writing is deeply sympathetic to interculturalism.

We ship internationally from South Korea, Indonesia, or a logistics partner depending on product availability, destination, and carrier conditions.
Shipping fees are calculated at checkout and can be reviewed before placing your order. Most orders are prepared within 2-7 business days after payment confirmation.
Import taxes, customs duties, VAT, GST, or handling fees charged by the destination country are not included unless clearly stated otherwise at checkout. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient.

Returns & Refunds
You may request a return within 14 days after receiving your order, but the item must be unused, unread, clean, undamaged, and in resalable condition. Shrink-wrapped or sealed products must be unopened.
For change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs. Original shipping fees, customs duties, import taxes, payment processing fees, and other third-party charges are non-refundable.
For customer-requested cancellations before shipment, a 6% payment processing fee will be deducted from the refund where permitted by applicable law. Orders that have already been shipped cannot be modified or canceled.
If your item arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos.
