Refund policy
At Life Pattern Korea, we want you to feel confident when ordering books from overseas. Please review our Return & Refund Policy carefully before placing your order, especially if your order will be shipped internationally.
Because books are physical items that can be easily damaged during return shipping, and because international return shipping can be costly, returns are generally accepted under the conditions below, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that may apply in your country or region.
Return requests
You may request a return within 14 days after receiving your order.
To be eligible for a return, the item must be in the same condition that you received it. Books must be clean, undamaged, unmarked, and in resalable condition, with no signs of use beyond what is necessary to inspect the item.
If the book was shipped with original packaging, protective wrapping, inserts, bundled materials, or shrink wrap, these must also be returned together. Shrink-wrapped or sealed products must be unopened unless the item is defective or a return is required by applicable law.
You will also need your order number, receipt, or proof of purchase.
To request a return, please contact us at support@lifepattern.kr before sending anything back. Once your return request is accepted, or if a mandatory return right applies, we will provide return instructions and the return address by email.
Please do not send any items back before contacting us. Items returned without prior notice, without approval when approval is required, or sent to an incorrect address may not be accepted or refunded.
Change-of-mind returns
For change-of-mind returns or returns requested for personal reasons, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
The original shipping fee is non-refundable unless required by applicable law or unless the issue was caused by our error. If a shipping discount or shipping voucher was used, the actual shipping cost may be deducted from your refund where permitted by applicable law.
Any customs duties, import taxes, VAT, GST, handling fees, or other charges paid to the destination country, carrier, payment provider, or other third party are also non-refundable by Life Pattern Korea, unless required by applicable law or unless the issue was caused by our error.
For personal-reason returns, a restocking or processing fee of up to 20% of the product value may be deducted from your refund where permitted by applicable law. This helps cover labor, inspection, repackaging, handling, and restocking costs. No restocking fee will be charged for returns caused by our error.
We recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance for return shipments. The customer is responsible for all risks during the return process, including loss, damage, customs clearance failure, delay, or non-delivery. If we do not receive the returned item, we may not be able to approve a refund.
Damaged, defective, wrong, or missing items
Please inspect your order as soon as you receive it.
If an item arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing, please contact us at support@lifepattern.kr within 7 days of delivery. Please include your order number and clear photos of the item, outer packaging, inner packaging, shipping label, and the damaged or incorrect area.
Please keep the item and all packaging materials until the issue has been reviewed, as the carrier may require photos or inspection details.
After reviewing the issue, we will help find an appropriate solution. Depending on the case, this may include a replacement, partial refund, full refund, store credit, or another reasonable solution.
Minor cosmetic wear that does not affect the readability or normal use of the book may not qualify for a full refund or replacement.
We may not be able to approve a claim if the issue is reported too late, if required photos or information are not provided, or if the damage appears to have occurred after delivery due to opening, handling, storage, or other circumstances outside our control.
Non-returnable items
We cannot accept returns for the following items, except where a return is required by applicable law:
- Items clearly marked as final sale or clearance
- Gift cards
- Digital products
- Magazines, newspapers, and used books
- Custom, personalized, or special-order items sourced specifically at the customer's request
- Shrink-wrapped or sealed products that have been opened, unless the item is defective
- Items that have been used, damaged, marked, stained, bent, folded, written in, or otherwise made unsuitable for resale
- Items returned without prior notice or approval when approval is required
- Items returned after the eligible return period

Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges for international orders.
If you received a defective, damaged, or incorrect item, we may replace it with the same item when appropriate and available.
For other cases, the fastest way to receive a different item is to request a return for the eligible item, wait for the return to be accepted, and then place a separate order for the new item.
Order cancellations
If you need to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible at support@lifepattern.kr.
Orders that have already been shipped cannot be modified or canceled.
For customer-requested order cancellations before shipment, a non-refundable payment processing fee of up to 6% may be deducted from the refund, calculated based on the total amount paid, where permitted by applicable law. This helps cover non-refundable payment processing fees charged by payment providers.
No cancellation fee will be charged if the cancellation is caused by our error, unavailable stock, or our inability to ship the order.
Special-order items, sourced items, or orders already prepared for international shipment may not be cancellable even if they have not yet shipped.
Refused deliveries, unpaid import charges, and failed customs clearance
If a parcel cannot be delivered because delivery was refused, import charges were not paid, customs clearance was not completed, or the customer did not take action required by the carrier or customs authority, the parcel may be returned to us or handled according to the carrier's or customs authority's procedures.
If the parcel is returned to us, the original shipping fee is non-refundable unless required by applicable law or unless the issue was caused by our error. Return shipping charges, customs or carrier handling fees, and, where applicable, a processing or restocking fee of up to 20% of the product value may also be deducted from any refund.
Refunds, when possible, are processed only after the parcel is returned to us in resalable condition.
Incorrect or incomplete addresses
Please enter your shipping address carefully and in full when placing your order.
Life Pattern Korea cannot accept responsibility for delays, failed deliveries, returned parcels, or lost parcels caused by incorrect, incomplete, outdated, or undeliverable address information provided by the customer.
If a parcel is returned to us or needs to be resent because of an address issue, the customer may be responsible for additional shipping charges.
European Union 14-day cooling-off period
If mandatory consumer protection laws in the European Union apply to your order, you may have the right to notify us that you wish to cancel or return your order within 14 days after receiving it, for any reason and without giving a justification.
After notifying us, you may be required to return the item within the period required by applicable law. You are generally responsible for the cost of returning the item unless we caused the issue, we agreed to pay the return cost, or applicable law requires otherwise.

Refunds
We will notify you after we receive and inspect your return.
If your refund is approved, it will be issued to your original payment method. Please allow up to 15 business days for us to process the approved refund, unless applicable law requires a shorter period. Your bank, credit card company, PayPal, or payment provider may require additional time to post the refund to your account.
In some international payment cases, refund posting by your bank, card issuer, PayPal, or payment provider may take up to 30 business days after the refund has been processed, where permitted by applicable law.
Original shipping fees, return shipping fees, customs duties, import taxes, VAT, GST, handling fees, payment processing fees, and other third-party charges are not refundable unless required by applicable law or unless the issue was caused by our error.
