Shipping policy
At Life Pattern Korea, we ship Korean books and selected titles from Korea and Japan to readers around the world. Because international shipping can vary by destination, package weight, carrier availability, customs process, and shipping origin, please review the information below before placing your order.
Shipping fees
Shipping fees are calculated at checkout based on your delivery address, package weight, available shipping methods, and other order details.
There is no single fixed shipping rate for all international orders. You will be able to review the final shipping fee before placing your order.
Order processing time
Most orders are prepared within 2-7 business days after payment confirmation. Business days do not include weekends, public holidays, or carrier holidays in South Korea or Indonesia. Delivery after dispatch may also be affected by holidays in the destination country.
Some books may require additional preparation time, especially if a title needs to be sourced, transferred, or prepared for international shipment. If we expect a meaningful delay, we will contact you by email.
Shipping origin
Most orders are prepared through our Seoul-based shipping route. For selected destinations, our Jakarta route or a logistics partner may be used when it offers a more practical shipping option.
The shipping origin may vary depending on product availability, destination country, package weight, carrier availability, and operational conditions.
Shipping methods and tracking
Depending on your destination and available shipping options, we may use international postal services, express services, consolidated shipping services, or partner courier networks.
After dispatch, tracking information will be provided when available. Tracking availability, update speed, and the level of detail may vary depending on the shipping method, destination country, and local carrier system.
For many international shipments, tracking updates may temporarily pause while the parcel is in customs, in export processing, or being handed over to a local postal service or local delivery partner. This is common for cross-border shipments and does not always mean that the parcel is lost.
Estimated delivery time
Any delivery dates or delivery periods shown by us, by the carrier, or during checkout are estimates only.
International delivery may be affected by customs clearance, carrier delays, local delivery conditions, weather, holidays, strikes, security checks, or other circumstances outside our control.
While we do our best to help your order arrive safely and as quickly as possible, Life Pattern Korea cannot guarantee an exact delivery date for international shipments.
Customs, duties, and import taxes
International orders may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, VAT, GST, brokerage fees, handling fees, clearance fees, or other charges imposed by the destination country.
Unless clearly stated otherwise at checkout, these charges are not included in our product prices or shipping fees. Life Pattern Korea does not collect these charges in advance and cannot predict the exact amount that may be charged by your local customs authority or delivery carrier.
The recipient is responsible for paying any customs duties, import taxes, and related charges required for the parcel to clear customs and be delivered.
Some countries may apply low or zero customs duty, reduced tax rates, exemptions, or special import rules for printed books or educational materials. However, these rules vary by destination and may change over time. Even if customs duty is low or not charged, VAT, GST, import taxes, customs clearance fees, carrier handling fees, or other charges may still apply. We recommend checking your local customs rules before placing an order if you are unsure.
Customs declarations
We are required to provide accurate customs information for international shipments, including the contents, quantity, value, and other required shipment details.
We cannot mark commercial orders as gifts, declare a lower value, change the declared item type, or provide false customs information at the customer's request.
Refused deliveries and unpaid import charges
If a parcel cannot be delivered because delivery was refused, import charges were not paid, or the customs process was not completed, the parcel may be returned to us or handled according to the carrier's or customs authority's procedures.
If the parcel is returned to us, the original shipping fee is non-refundable. Return shipping charges, customs or carrier handling fees, and, where applicable, a processing or restocking fee of up to 20% of the product value may also be deducted from any refund.
Refunds, when possible, are processed only after the parcel is returned to us in resalable condition.
Incorrect or incomplete addresses
Please enter your shipping address carefully and in full. The customer is responsible for providing an accurate recipient name, address, postal code, phone number, and any other information required for delivery.
Life Pattern Korea cannot accept responsibility for delays, failed deliveries, returned parcels, or lost parcels caused by incorrect, incomplete, outdated, or undeliverable address information provided by the customer.
If a parcel must be resent because of an address issue, the customer may be responsible for additional shipping charges.
Unavailable destinations and shipping restrictions
Some destinations or shipping services may become temporarily unavailable due to carrier restrictions, customs restrictions, local regulations, political conditions, natural disasters, service suspensions, or other circumstances outside our control.
If we are unable to ship your order to your destination, we will contact you to discuss an available alternative, cancellation, or refund.
Lost, delayed, or damaged parcels
If your parcel appears to be significantly delayed, lost, or damaged, please contact us with your order number and tracking information.
If your parcel or books arrive damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number, tracking number, and clear photos of the outer package, packing materials, and damaged items.
We will help review the issue and, when appropriate, assist with a carrier investigation. Carrier investigations and claim decisions may take time and may depend on the rules of the shipping carrier, local postal service, or destination country's delivery network.
