Life Pattern Korea. Through this, learners can improve their intermediate-level communication ability by learning the vocabulary, expressions, and grammar needed for personal everyday topics and familiar social topics.
The features of this book are as follows.
1. The content was organized to fit undergraduate and graduate class schedules of 15 weeks, 30 hours, or 45 hours, making it suitable for use as a one-semester university textbook. Korean and English are also presented together to increase convenience for both learners and instructors. Learners can understand the main content more easily, and instructors can use it as effective supplementary material.
2. The content of the textbook reflects TOPIK test formats. In the "Speaking" section, learners are asked to practice organizing the flow of a story by looking at a sequence of pictures. In the "Writing" section, the book is designed so that learners can practice writing practical texts suited to their purpose based on situations commonly encountered in real life. Through this, learners can effectively develop the speaking and writing skills needed to use appropriate expressions in actual communication situations and complete tasks successfully.
3. "Real Activities" related to the topic are provided. By applying what has been learned in the previous two units to tasks directly connected to real life, learners can naturally expand their language use ability. Through these activities, learners can experience not "textbook Korean" but "real-world Korean."
4. It allows learning activities that reflect the cognitive process involved in using a foreign language. Foreign learners usually go through the cognitive process of first thinking in their native language before converting their thoughts into Korean. Reflecting this point, the book includes "You and Me Talk Talk," in which learners change dialogues presented in English into Korean. Depending on the instructor's discretion, this activity can be used in various ways as a speaking or writing task.
5. This textbook was written by an expert with more than 15 years of experience in Korean language education settings. Based on extensive field experience, the author sought to faithfully reflect the needs of instructors and learners from a variety of national backgrounds in the textbook. As a result, the learning content is composed not of stiff and difficult expressions used only in books, but of living Korean expressions that can be used immediately in real life.
