In her late twenties, Gye-na, an employee in the credit card approval department of a financial company, feels trapped in a meaningless job and dreads the daily commute. Reaching her limit, she quits, despite her family’s pleas, her boyfriend’s tearful objections, and friends who mock her for having “foreign fever.” Life Pattern Korea. During a two-month vacation back in Korea with him, Gye-na experiences a well-settled life with a stable job, friends, and even an enviable apartment, yet she still feels unsatisfied. She ultimately chooses to return to Australia once more. While her first departure was a form of escape, her second is a courageous journey to pursue her happiness. Gye-na gradually moves closer to the fulfilling life she truly desires.
